Jing Wang is a painter and illustrator based in Sweden. Formerly a full-time musician in Beijing, she approaches visual art the way she understands sound. Her sense of visual aesthetics was shaped early on by 20th-century Chinese and Japanese animation, manga, as well as pop art. She is fascinated by human and anthropomorphic faces and body forms. She finds the human face particularly complex, capable of endless possibilities. Every expression and gesture of a human is unique and unrepeatable — each one appears only once in all eternity. This makes the act of depicting or creating them an endless source of fascination for her.
In recent years, she has been working primarily with acrylic, watercolor, gouache, and digital drawing.
